Thrift Store Sheets and a Cute Hat

I found a really adorable hat pattern over at oliver + s a few weeks ago and decided to make one for my daughter. It's reversible and I used Moda fabric for both sides. I really love how it turned out and my daughter loves wearing hats so she was pretty pleased too! It is a very easy pattern to sew, it only took me about an hour.

My husband found a new thrift store for us to try this week. I'll be honest we don't shop at thrift stores very often but when we do go we always walk away THRILLED with what we found. Yesterday was no exception. The store is called Savers and they had some great stuff. My husband scored some "like new" Jamaica Jaxx Hawaiian shirts for work. They do Hawaiian shirt day every friday so he was excited about his loot!

I however, found some really awesome sheets! They probably had at least 100 sheets for sale. I had a really hard time only choosing 2 but I'm completely in love with this beautiful queen sized flower print I snagged for only $2.99! I am going to make a fun dress and matching hat for my daughter and I think I will have plenty left over for my stash!

I'm a practical gal so I chose this white sheet as well. It's a really nice weight (thank you JC Penny home collection) I think it will work into a quilt nicely or I could even make a little something for my daughter. I'm not sure about this one yet but I just love clean fresh white I feel like It has endless possibilities, so I had to get this one too.

I can't wait to go back and get some more awesome fabric on the cheap!

  18. Hello there! I know this is somewhat off topic
but I was wondering which blog platform are you using
for this site? I'm getting fed up of Wordpress because I've had issues with hackers and
I'm looking at options for another platform. I would be great if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
